US elections: Tarot and I-Ching readings

                              TAROT

I’ll proceed with a 10‑card Keltic Cross reading focused on: “What will be the result of the upcoming U.S. elections for Republicans—favorable or unfavorable?”

Shuffling the full deck (Major and Minor Arcana) and drawing 10 cards…

Keltic Cross Spread

  1. Basis of the matter: Wheel of Fortune
  2. Where things are now: Seven of Wands
  3. Hopes or fears: The Sun
  4. Present and passing: Eight of Cups
  5. Forces for or against: Justice
  6. Near future: The Chariot
  7. How the near future evolves: Two of Pentacles
  8. New turn of events / effects of others: The Moon
  9. The person in the environment of the future: King of Swords
  10. Final outcome / summation: Temperance

Interpretation

  1. Wheel of Fortune (basis): The situation is in flux; cycles are turning. It points to a contest shaped by shifting external factors—macro mood, late‑breaking events, and turnout dynamics—rather than a fixed trajectory.

  2. Seven of Wands (now): A stance of defense and resolve. This suggests Republicans are holding ground under pressure, emphasizing core positions and energizing loyal supporters amid challenges.

  3. The Sun (hopes/fears): Hope for a clear, visible win and strong public validation. As a “fear,” it highlights anxiety about whether that clarity will actually materialize.

  4. Eight of Cups (present and passing): A phase of moving away from what hasn’t worked. This can reflect strategic adjustments, voters leaving certain narratives behind, or retiring less effective approaches as the election nears.

  5. Justice (forces for/against): Rules, procedures, courts, and fairness narratives are pivotal. Legal scrutiny, recount protocols, ballot access, and perceptions of legitimacy weigh heavily—for better or worse.

  6. The Chariot (near future): A surge of momentum and determined push. Indicates disciplined drive in the final stretch—strong mobilization and decisive efforts to shape outcomes.

  7. Two of Pentacles (how it evolves): Tight juggling and close margins. Votes split finely, with resources and attention shifting rapidly between key races; outcomes may hinge on small, practical factors.

  8. The Moon (effects of others/new turn): Confusion, mixed signals, and shifting stories. Poll variability, rumors, and contested information environments could obscure a clear picture on the night and shortly after.

  9. King of Swords (person in the environment): Officials, courts, analysts, and rule‑setters loom large. The tone becomes more procedural and analytical—calls, certifications, and legal interpretations matter.

  10. Temperance (final outcome): A moderated, balanced result rather than an overwhelming wave. It points to mixed outcomes—some notable gains offset by constraints or setbacks elsewhere—requiring coalition‑building and pragmatic compromise afterward.

Bottom line

  • Overall leaning: Mixed to moderately favorable in select areas, but not a sweeping or unequivocal victory. Expect competitive races, narrow margins, and a need for patience as processes play out.
  • Key themes: Momentum plus close splits; legal/procedural emphasis; information fog; eventual stabilization into a tempered, balanced map.

Note: Tarot reflects energies and tendencies, not certainties—especially in complex, rapidly changing political contexts. Consider this guidance as interpretive and for reflection rather than a definitive prediction.

                                  I-CHING

Casting the I Ching now.

  • Primary hexagram: 53 – Gradual Progress (Jian), Wind over Mountain
  • Changing line: Line 1 is changing
  • Secondary hexagram: 20 – Contemplation/Viewing (Guan), Wind over Earth

Interpretation

Hexagram 53 – Gradual Progress:

  • Meaning: Slow, steady, step-by-step advancement built on groundwork, structure, and patience—not dramatic surges.
  • For the elections: Indicates incremental gains or consolidation where organization and prior effort are strongest. Uneven landscape rather than a sweeping wave.

Line 1 (changing):

  • Image: Early steps near the shore—progress is just beginning and is vulnerable.
  • Meaning: Foundations matter most; early signals can be fragile. Avoid overconfidence or premature celebration.

Hexagram 20 – Contemplation (as the outcome tone):

  • Meaning: Public viewing, scrutiny, and assessment. After movement, there’s a pause to evaluate what has truly been achieved and how it is perceived.
  • For the elections: The narrative and optics of the results will be as important as the tally. Expect a period of review, messaging recalibration, and attention to what the results reveal.

Answer to the question:

  • The reading points to a modestly favorable but uneven outcome for Republicans—more about incremental gains and consolidation than an overwhelming surge. Strength is likeliest where groundwork is solid; elsewhere, movement may be limited. Afterward comes a phase of scrutiny and reassessment focused on what the results signify rather than triumphalism.

                        Tao Te Ching

The Tao does not take sides.

The river flows according to its own nature, carving valleys and raising mountains without preference for one bank or the other. Elections, like storms or seasons, arise and pass. Whether the wind blows red or blue is a matter of momentary form—yin and yang forever turning, each containing the seed of its opposite.

In the Tao Te Ching it is written:

“I do nothing and the people transform themselves.
I love stillness and the people become upright of their own accord.
I take no action and the people enrich themselves.
I have no desires and the people return to simplicity.” (Chapter 57)

And also:

“Good fortune rests upon misfortune; misfortune hides within good fortune.
Who can know the end of this turning?” (Chapter 58)

To ask whether the result will be “favorable to the Republicans” is to stand on the shore shouting at the tide. The wise person does not waste energy predicting the waves. Instead, cultivate your own virtue (Te). Return to simplicity. Attend to what is near—your breath, your conduct, your relationships—rather than grasping at distant outcomes.

The best ruler is one whose existence the people barely notice. The best citizen is one who remains centered while the ten thousand things rise and fall. Power comes and goes like the morning mist. Clinging to victory or fearing defeat only disturbs the heart.

Let the mud settle.
Wait for the water to clear.
Then act—or refrain from acting—in accordance with the Tao that moves through all things, impartial and everlasting.

The eternal Tao remains untouched by red waves or blue waves. Align with that, and no election can truly unsettle you.
